LYMPHOMATHON Frequently Asked Questions

I. Online Registration

A. How do I register?
Registration is quick and easy and can be done online on www.lymphomathon.org in minutes.  Simply click on the Participant Registration?
link on the left side of your Walk homepage and you will be guided through the registration process.

B. What is a Personal Webpage?
When you register, you have the option to create a customized Personal Webpage so that you can easily ask friends and family to support you as you walk to find a cure for lymphoma.  When you register, you will be able to set your team and/or personal fundraising goal, which will be displayed on this page, along with your progress toward the goal.  You also have the option of personalizing images, text, style, color, and layout on your page.

C. Can I use and change my Personal Webpage?
When you register, a Personal Webpage will be created for you, and your name will be included in our online database.  You will then have the opportunity to upload your own photos and insert copy to let everyone know why the Lymphomathon is important to you.  You do not need to personalize your webpage but distinctive touches will set you apart and can really add to your fundraising campaign!

D. What is the difference between Team Goals and Personal Goals?
Everyone will be asked to set a Personal Fundraising Goal when they register.  This amount will be reflected in the "thermometer" on your personal webpage.  A Team Captain can also enter a team goal, which will set the goal on the Team Webpage's "thermometer."  Team pages and Personal pages will track the progress you make toward your goal.

E.Will I receive additional information and fundraising tips in the mail?
Yes, you will receive a team captain handbook with letter writing samples in the mail 5-7 business days after registration.  You can also access this information in the ?Fundraising? section of the Lymphomathon website.

II. Teams

A. What is a Team Webpage?
In addition to their Personal Webpages, Team Captains can modify their Team Webpage.  This page lists all members of the team and their fundraising totals, along with links to their Personal Webpages. This page also displays the team fundraising goal and total raised, and can include a photo and text about the team.

B. If I am collecting checks for my team, should I turn them in on Walk Day or mail them in advance?
Team Captains may collect all the donations from their team members and turn everything in on Walk Day.  Checks can also be mailed in advance to our National Office at the address below:

Lymphoma Research Foundation
ATTN: (Walk Location)
115 Broadway, 13th floor
New York, NY  10006

Be sure to indicate the Team and Walker to be credited so dollars go toward the proper fundraising goal.  In order to keep our accounting records accurate, we do not allow walkers to enter pledges on to the website, so we recommend that you send us your checks as you collect them so that you can see your Walker and Team total rise.  It?s a real treat to see how quickly you can achieve your goal.  Please allow 6-8 business days for Walk checks to be processed and appear toward your total on the website.

C. Can Volunteers be Team Captains?
When it comes to fundraising and being a Team Captain, Volunteers are exactly like all other Walkers.   We encourage Volunteers to register as Walkers or Team Captains so that they can get involved in the fundraising process as well as help out on Walk Day.

III. Participant Center

A. What is My Headquarters?
?My Headquarters? contains all the tools to make the most of your online fundraising experience.  You can modify Personal and Team Webpages, send emails asking for donations, and track your personal and team fundraising progress.

B. How do I get to My Headquarters?
You can log in from the Lymphomathon website specific to your Walk location.  You will be taken directly to your Headquarters.

IV. Donations

A. How do I know when someone has donated to me?
Unless you select otherwise in your Headquarters, you will automatically receive an e-mail notifying you when a donation has been made.  You can also check the Honor Roll or the "My Progress" section of your Headquarters.

B. Can people make anonymous gifts?
Donors can choose to keep their names anonymous, and can select whether or not their donation amount is displayed online.

C. How does the money I raise get credited to my team?
All the money a walker raises counts towards that walker.  If the Walker is on a Team, his or her total will be included in the Team Total.

V. Security

A. Is my information secure?
We
have made every effort to protect your personal information. We use encryption techniques to make sure that your credit card information, passwords, and personal information travel securely over the Internet.

B. How is my credit card number handled?
Credit card numbers are not stored in our database. During the donation process we send your credit card number to an online processing terminal using a secure connection. The information passed back is an approval or denial for the credit card donation.

C. What do I do if I forget my Username and Password?
You will receive an email with your username and password when you first register.  Using that email address, you can request username and password reminders from the User Login screen.  If you are having difficulty logging in, remember that your username and password are case sensitive.  If you continue to have problems, please contact events@lymphoma.org and we will automatically email your username and password to the email address you used to create the account.

D. Can I change my personal information?
You can modify your profile in your Headquarters.  You will be able to change your contact information, email address, username and password.

Do you have questions that weren?t answered here?  If so, please feel free to contact LRF at 800-235-6848 or via email at events@lymphoma.org and we?ll be happy to assist you.  Our offices are open from 9am-5pm EST.   Please tell the receptionist which Lymphomathon you will be participating in and they will direct you to the proper coordinator.
