A Tribute to the Memory of my Dad, Ken Tietje
At the age of 55 and after a long tough battle with Mantle Cell Lymphoma my Dad passed away in the Fall of 2007. Strength was a trait that he never lacked, but even strength wouldn’t have given us the additional 5 years that the trained, knowledgeable medical staff and the numerous clinical trials blessed us with.
Thanks to the effort of the Lymphoma Research Foundation the median survival rate for this disease has increased from 3 years to now an estimated 6-7 years for new patients.
In his honor, it is my hope that I can help raise the necessary money for the Lymphoma Research Foundation so that more families will be given that extra time to spend with their loved ones and possibly come one step closer to a cure.
